FINALLY, after months of waiting, I have received my OFFICIAL ACCEPTANCE LETTER to the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria’s School of Business.
Try saying that 10 times fast.
Now comes the dreaded part – applying for my student visa.
I have been dreading this step in the process for a while. It’s the scary stuff.
I have to get a criminal record check, fill out about a million papers, get finger printed (twice), and fly to Ottawa Canada to the Austria Embassy to apply in person. I can’t mail my forms in, I have to spend a crap ton of money to fly across the country and hand them my papers. That’s pretty much it. And that’s dumb.
But these people are letting me live in their country for 6 months, so I guess I kinda owe them one.
I haven’t posted in MONTHS, and I’m sorry. I started this blog very prematurely, and so most of the things I’ve been doing have included waiting around for paperwork to be processed and stuff.
I have been attending a regular semester at MacEwan University, but honestly I’m jsut trying to push through it. Because once this semester is over, it is that much closer to my AMAZING semester in Austria.
It’s getting closer and closer and scarier and scarier. It’s scary to move to a new country by yourself. ESPECIALLY when that country is thousands of kilometers away across a very large ocean and is not a native English-speaking country.
The more I think about it, I seem a little crazy.
Guess it’s a good thing that I am.
So here’s a small update. Things will get more interesting soon, I promise!!
Until then!
Miss Emma K.
